BSTEC 209 - Desktop Publishing
1.0 to 3.0 Credits
Fundamentals of desktop publishing using Microsoft Publisher. Prior keyboarding and word processing recommended. S/U grade option. Prerequisite: BSTEC 130 or equivalent.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate the fundamentals of desktop publishing including layout, graphics, manipulation, text editing, and printing. [REASON]
- Define terminology basic to desktop publishing and printing. [COMMUNICATE]
- Demonstrate the basics of typography: typefaces, units of measurement, letter spacing, and concepts of readability and legibility. [REASON]
- Demonstrate an ability to generate visual and typographical ideas to solve specific communications problems. [REASON]
