2.0 Credits Introduction to a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available in the hospitality industry. Prerequisite: CLART 100 and placement in BRDGE 093 or EAP 121 .

Course Objectives Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify local, state and federal laws pertaining to the purchase and service of alcoholic beverages. [REASON]
- Explain the basic production process for fermentation. [REASON]
- Describe wines by grape, country, growing region and production process. [REASON]
- Evaluate the relationship of beverages to food. [REASON]
- Identify levels of intoxication and methods to control excessive consumption by guests. [REASON]
