MUSC 190 - Introduction to Audio Engineering
2.0 Credits
Introduction to terms, concepts, and equipment used in home/ professional studio environments. Students enrolled are invited to use the EdCC Digital Music Studios to complete large-scale mixing projects. No previous musical knowledge necessary (was MUSIC 190).
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify the basic components and equipment used in a recording/project studio. [REASON]
- Demonstrate the basic principles of acoustics and digital audio theory. [REASON]
- Set up and run small recording sessions. [REASON]
- Apply common mixing and mastering techniques to multi-track recordings. [REASON]
