SHS 207 - Introduction to Grant Writing
2.0 Credits Provides students with the fundamentals of successful grant writing; researching and evaluating funding sources, researching the problem and its potential solutions, creating a feasible project plan and budget, writing persuasively and effectively. Prerequisite: BRIDGE 093 OR placement into BSTEC 100 or ENGL& 101 OR instructor permission.
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course students should be able to:
- Explain the process and procedures involved with writing a grant to support a variety of programs. [REASON]
- Demonstrate ability to research and evaluate funding sources on a local and national level. [REASON]
- Be able to develop a basic grant proposal, including a concrete project plan, action steps, outcomes and budget. [REASON]
