HSC 051 - Algebra 1 Portfolio
Maximum of 5.0 possible Credits Introduction to basic algebra, basic geometry, basic data analysis, and probability. For high school completion students to fulfill high school diploma math requirements. Prerequisite MATH 040 or advisor placement. Corequisite
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Write equations to solve problems.
- Represent verbal quantitative situations algebraically.
- Evaluate expressions for given replacement values of the variables.
- Solve multistep equations.
- Solve multistep inequalities.
- Graph linear equations and linear inequalities.
- Analyze and represent variation algebraically and graphically in a real-world context.
- Reflect on how mathematical ideas connect within mathematics, to other subject areas, and to real-life situations.
