Prior Learning (PL)

Definition
The process of determining whether or not the knowledge, skills, and abilities a student has gained outside the classroom match the knowledge, skills, and abilities a student would gain by completing a specific course. Students may be awarded college credit by demonstrating through assessment or an exam score that they have met a course’s learning objectives.
