Academic Year

1. A year time period running from July 1 to the end of June that includes summer, fall, winter and spring quarters. This “academic year” is also the fiscal year for the college. [Edmonds College Definition]
2. Can also refer to the September through June school year. This “academic year” is in reference to the 9-month period that full-time faculty members are on contract. [Edmonds College Definition]
3. Instruction equivalent of two semesters of approximately 15 weeks each or 3 quarters of approximately 10 weeks each, either of which may include examination days. (See Credit, Unit of). [NWCCU Glossary]
