CMST 235 - Online Small Group Communication:CD
5.0 Credits Study of online small group decision making processes. Focus on member roles, norms of interaction, and leadership in groups that work online. Prerequisite: Completion of ENGL 100 with a 2.0 or placement in ENGL& 101. Previous experience with on-line courses recommended.
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe differences between the face-to-face and computer mediated communication Speech Communication Model contexts. [REASON]
- Analyze and explain the elements of communication competence in online group interactions. [REASON]
- Identify and explain the influences of cultural (gender, occupation, age, socioeconomic, for example) variations in the online communication environment. [REASON]
