ETEC 189 - Fiber Reinforced Composites: Repair



1.5 Credits
Students will gain an understanding of inspection, documentation and composite repair. The techniques covered will include surface, potted, taper sanded, and bolted methods.
Prerequisite ETEC 169.
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs)
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Perform quality inspection.
  2. Document the part condition before repair.
  3. Identify sources of composite damage.
  4. Describe different repair techniques for different sorts of composite damage.
  5. Define foreign object damage (FOD) and identify sources of FOD.
  6. Conduct basic repairs.
