An overview of the field of communication with an emphasis on the interpersonal approach, small group communication and public speaking.
Prerequisite Placement in ENGL& 101.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe the transactional model of communication and explain how this concept can be applied in personal and professional settings.
- Describe and demonstrate the basic principles of public speaking, small group communication and interpersonal communication.
- Describe and apply principles of effective speech writing and delivery.
- Describe and apply the basic principles of small-group interaction.
