HORT 269 - Horticulture Business Practices
4.0 Credits
Introduction to business practices essential to the operation of a successful landscape or nursery business. Basic record keeping, planning, bidding, and estimating contracts, and responsibilities.
Prerequisite Placement into BRDGE 093 or higher and MATH 087 or higher. Knowledge of Word and Excel recommended.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Complete Washington state Master Business Application online.
- Define and describe the necessary resources, licenses and permits needed to run a landscaping business in Washington state.
- Develop a basic business plan utilizing a template.
- Define and describe basic book keeping requirements for a small business.
