MFG 125 - Metrology For Tooling

Introduction to basic measurement tools, techniques, and equipment used in aerospace manufacturing tooling environments and the equipment used to perform measurements. Demonstrate appropriate use of precision measuring equipment.
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs)
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe, select, and use a variety of measurement tools, such as calipers, gages, and other equipment.
- Establish calibration intervals using usage history and gage studies.
- Use gages to mark metals for cutting and drilling.
- Use metal stamps to mark all parts and tools.
- Identify and appropriately use measuring tools.
- Understand basics of Faro and Romer arm to measure X and Y axis on a production part.
- Explain and apply sampling systems.
