Program Description The Accounting Associate of Applied Science-Transfer Degree is designed for students who want to transfer to the Bachelor of Applied Science in Administrative Management at Central Washington University (CWU). This degree will allow students to update existing knowledge and skills and/or acquire up-to-date technical and managerial skills. The degree requires students to work with an Accounting adviser to select those courses, which will help students achieve their educational and career goals. Many courses are available online for both the AAS-T and the BS degrees. Refer to the class quarterly schedule.

Credit/Grade Requirements This AAS-T degree requires successful completion of 90 credits as outlined. A minimum of 30 credits or one-third of the required credits, whichever is less, must be earned at Edmonds CC. Students are required to maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 in all college level courses.

Cultural Diversity Requirement All students earning a degree or certificate of 45 credits or more must meet a cultural diversity (CD) requirement by taking at least five (5) credits of CD courses. Students Are Advised To

  • Plan their schedule several quarters in advance in order to accommodate courses that are offered only once or twice a year,
  • Review the college catalog for required course prerequisites and include these in schedule planning,
  • Communicate with an academic adviser, and
  • Submit an Evaluation Request - Transfer Credits Form (available in Enrollment Services) to activate the process of transferring credits to Edmonds CC.

Graduation Application A completed Graduation Application form must be submitted online by the 10th day of the quarter in which the student expects to graduate. Note: Applications for summer quarter are due by the 8th day of the quarter.

Admission Requirements to Central Washington University’s Bachelor of Applied Science in Administrative Management Program All students who intend to transfer to CWU should talk with a CWU adviser to review specific admission requirements. Students must have a 2.5 minimum cumulative grade point average to be considered for admission to this program. All of the courses in this degree will transfer to the CWU Applied Bachelor’s Degree.

General Education Requirements (20 credits)


A lab science is needed for CWU graduation. This requirement may be completed at Edmonds Community College. Recommended:

Communication Skills (10 credits)


OUTCOME: Write in clear, effective ways, adapted to audience, context, and purpose.

Quantitative Skills (5 credits)


OUTCOME: Apply mathematical, quantitative, or symbolic models to solve problems, draw inferences, or support conclusions appropriate to an individual discipline.

Choose one of the following courses. Note: Students planning on pursuing a Master’s degree should complete the Calculus series of courses.

Social Sciences (5 credits)


OUTCOME: Use Social Science theories and methods to reason, communicate, apply insights, solve problems, and to develop a critical understanding of the diversity and interdependence of peoples and cultures.

Cultural Diversity Requirement


OUTCOME: Apply multiple perspectives when examining cultural differences and interacting in multicultural settings.

  • Use financial and managerial accounting tools, methods, and technical skills to record, analyze, and manage information, solve problems, and make decisions that support the organization’s mission.

  • Identify and explain how to apply the skills needed to maintain effective working relationships in multicultural settings.
  • Demonstrate the ability to research employment opportunities, prepare an effective employment package, and present oneself positively in a job interview.

Career Management (7-9 credits)


OUTCOME: Demonstrate the ability to research employment opportunities, prepare an effective employment package, and present oneself positively in a job interview.
