ELA 007 - Literacy Support Class

A support class focused on helping ELA 001 and 002 students improve listening, speaking, reading, and writing English skills based on students’ needs. This class is aligned with the Career and College Readiness Standards (CCRS), as outlined in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2016.
Prerequisite Placement by instructor or advisor.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Develop phonemic awareness for written words.
- Differentiate between common sounds in English.
- Produce simple words and phrases using basic writing conventions.
- Recognize and produce phone numbers, addresses, dates, time, and prices through listening and writing.
- Recognize and respond to classroom instructions and basic questions about personal information.
